~Bridge between Japan and the World~
At Ohzora club,
Japanese people who want to connect with foreigners,
and foreigners who want to connect with Japanese people can connect with each other freely.
We aim to become a bridge between Japan and the World.
And through these activities,
we hope to increase the number of young people
that get to know diversity and foreigners that become to like Japan.
~Story~
We at Yakushima Ohzora High School,
have long welcomed foreign volunteers as part of our global education,
having them participate in schooling together with our students and help out on our school farm.
By interacting with people from other countries, students not only became interested in foreign countries,
but also learnt about various cultures, languages, races, ways of thinking and ways of living,
leading them to achieve greater diversity.
These were invaluable experiences for the students,
and even after graduating they began to say: "I want to have that experience again.".
By sharing meals and activities with Japanese staff and students,
for foreigners also became an opportunity
to learn about "Japan's lifestyle" and "Japanese character", which cannot be easily experienced by just sightseeing.
Many people became more interested in Japan,
wanting to participate in volunteer activities again and reconnect with students,
so they also helped us online from their home countries.
As a result, we would like to make these exchanges easily accessible,
not only to active students,
but also, to graduates, family, friends and various Japanese people.
And easily accessible not only to foreigners that visit Japan,
but also to people who would like to participate from their home countries.
We aim to make our activities
a valuable experience for many people.
